What Is a BEP-20 Token?
BEP-20 is the token standard for BNB Chain (formerly Binance Smart Chain). It is functionally identical to Ethereum's ERC-20 standard — the same OpenZeppelin contract code, the same wallet compatibility, and the same DEX trading mechanics. BEP-20 tokens work with PancakeSwap, Trust Wallet, MetaMask (with BNB Chain network added), and any BSC-compatible application.

BNB Chain has some of the lowest gas fees of any major blockchain. A contract deployment costs approximately $0.10–$0.50 in gas. Regular token transfers cost around $0.01–$0.05. PancakeSwap swaps cost $0.10–$0.30. These low fees make BNB Chain ideal for projects expecting high transaction volume or users making frequent small transactions.

Adding Liquidity on PancakeSwap
After deploying your BEP-20 token, the next step is creating a trading pair on PancakeSwap V3. Go to PancakeSwap, click Pool, then Add Liquidity. Select your token contract address and pair it with BNB or BUSD. Add equal USD value of both tokens. The more liquidity you add, the lower the price impact for buyers and the more credible your project appears.

BEP-20 (BNB Chain): lower gas fees, larger meme coin community, PancakeSwap liquidity, faster block times (3 seconds).
